Just shut out the lights and let the music take you to another place/time.
i was drawn to celtic music way back. Got pulled in when Clannad was providing background music for Robin Hood. Back to Loreena McKennit,i like her voice. A high sing- song pitch thats hypnotic and soothing at the same time. My favorites are The Mummer's Dance,and especially The Highwayman,a haunting story in song. To me,the music takes me back in time,out of the world we live in today.

modern monster flick
this movie reminds me of the 1960's Japanese monster movies. the battle between men and destructive beasts. it also has a common theme of how man has created the setting for the upcoming war. the alien/monster with the knife-like nose resembles the monster on a far away planet that Gamara fights. and the human made mechanical battle bots reminds me of voltron, thunder cats, and power rangers. of course the creatures,ect. are better detailed then decades ago. I enjoyed the movie even though some parts were a little quirky.

River of No Return
It's a classic movie starring Marilyn Monroe as a saloon singer involved with a no good POS. Set in the gold rush days, Robert Mitchum plays the guy left defenceless by the POS while Indians are raiding and killing. A story of the time when people depended on themselves most of the time for survival in an untamed land. And revenge for endangering lives he cares about. It features awesome landscapes most people don't appreciate now days.
