It works, but only as a primary remote. I couldn't get it to work as a secondary.
This is very close to the remote that came with my new Directv service...but it is a bit different. The differences are cosmetic. It does not have the surface texture on the backside as does the original. This makes it a bit less grippy. Also, there is not a white circle around the app button. Does any of that matter? Probably not. After trying to pair it as second remote numerous times, I was unsuccessful. However, when I unpaired the original remote and paired the new one, it worked fine. I am not sure if you can have two remotes on the Gemini system.
Overall, it is a good deal for the money.
