Ridgid 377 flaring tool
I am working with 3/16 diameter .027 wall thickness stainless steel tooling. The only way to flare it was with multi -head devises or hydraulic flaring tools which could score the seating surface. They had no rolling action. This flaring tool had all the answers solved, A great feat of engineering, I was very impressed with the action of the rolling 37 deg flaring cone. The clamping action I figured out before I saw this tool and bought it because of the way they designed the clamp, center with the tube, but the rolling action of the flaring surface was something way beyond yesterdays technology and really created a beautiful seating smooth and free on rips or tears. For the money this tool will never let you down or hold you up, fast and clean. Best tool I have bought in years. My hats off to the engineer who designed this produce. I was ready to give up on the stainless Steel tubing didn't think there was a chance for a garage mechanic to get it to flared without spending more money then the project was worth. I am in my late 60's and flared a lot off tubing never stainless but will never have any need for another flaring devise. Flares tubing from 3/16 to 3/4- .030 wall thickness. The tubing has to be properly annealed to soften the weld for flaring. Great product !!
