Sleek Device, portable with high performance
3 of 4 found this helpful I had a lot of discretion before getting the 2017 Macbook Pro because of the huge amount of negative feedback I have seen for it. A lot of people still prefer the 2015 model, but I opted to purchase the 2017 model for the updated processor and lighter form factor.
Although I don't have any personal experience with the 2015 version of the Macbook, I am completely satisfied with my experience with the 2017 model so far. It is a really sleek device with a great screen. The performance have been flawless and the battery life is great. It can get a little bit hot while the device is charging, but it's nothing uncomfortable.
A lot of people experienced issues with the keyboard, but it hasn't been an issue for me. The keyboard does have very light key travel, so it may not be suited for anyone who really likes to "press in" to the keyboard. Personally, it took a little getting used to, but it has gotten comfortable as I use it more. I am still typing over 100 wpm on this device.
Overall, I would recommend the 2017 MPB for anyone who is looking to purchase a MPB. However, if you could afford to wait for the newer model to come out, then that's probably also preferred. I needed a MBP at this time and the 2017 MPB has been a stellar device that met all of my needs.
