Best Version!
The Directors cut makes this movie significantly more interesting. If you have never seen this movie its better to see this version first. The shorter version leaves out much of the excellent lore included in the directors cut, which gives the story integral progressive cohesion.

Classic, Corny and Imaginative
I have nostalgia for this show from my youth. Otherwise it would be lame honestly.
If you are into xeno-physchology, engineering or sci-fi it has some potential thought provoking content but most of the themes have been repeated in many other shows since.
It is appropriate for children who are not extremely sheltered.
