Cut 418 3 in 1 weld/cut for the price of a plasma cutter alone?
1 of 1 found this helpful Received ct418 yesterday. MMA works well on 240 volt plug, but ground and stinger lead wires are very short, so you must have welder very close to your work. Tried on 120 and works but not as well as on 240. Gave the cut function a quick try and works fine (only tried on 240). Cut torch hose/cable is a little longer, but you still have to use the ground which is quite short. Could not use the tig function because we don't have argon gas in our shop. Hopefully it lasts because this unit is cheaper than most plasma cutters and we will have a back up welder in the event our main welder in shop has problems, or a small lightweight unit that can be taken to the field for emergency repairs and operated with a generator.
