No problem with the refurbished unit.
4 of 4 found this helpful There is one thing you should consider before you buy any booster, and a couple about the Wilson. First of all, just like satellite TV or Internet, the antenna has to have a clear shot at the tower. 700/800 mhz signals do NOT like trees. If you can't get above them or have a hole in them in the direction of the tower, it's not going to work.
As for the Wilson part, the repeater unit itself is very lightweight, indicating not much of a heatsink. And it does run hot. Mount it so it has air circulation all around it. The furnished coax is good quality, but the antenna's are really cheaply made pressed thin metal. They are inside radomes, so I guess that's not a real big deal. For my situation, the supplied 4 element LPDA didn't have enough gain, so I had to buy an 8 element yagi.
Bottom line is if I had to do it over again I'd buy the Surecall for 2 reasons. You can turn off the bands you don't need, reducing the power consumption and operating temp. And, it's got a real nice heatsink.
