My all-time favourite Apple peripheral device
I used these back in elementary school and I'm stoked to have a set in such nice condition. They're fast, reliable and they make the most distinctive startup sound; I would even go as far to say as iconic for those of my generation.

Thoroughly enjoyable
1 of 1 found this helpful I hadn't seen this film in a very long time until fairly recently. Once I got to see it again, in full-frame on a period-correct TV no less, I was so taken in by it that time seemed to stop and it was still brand new, I don't know how to put it better than that.
I think it's a lovely legacy for Mara Wilson and an incredible gift to us, having brought Matilda to life when the book meant so much to her and her mom, and for pressing onward with filming when her mom was so sick. Thank you Mara, I will always be grateful.

Ideal for vintage electronics restoration
These are great for rebuilding. The values are ink-stamped onto the can and terminals are easily swapped around if needed so there's no need to find an exact match.
I just file off the crimp as I have figured out a way to keep everything together without it, not to mention make for easy access should maintenance be needed. It's just a matter of pinning the base parts together and using a spring and hook hidden inside the can.
There's one caveat: the top wafer is plastic, so when gutting these heat ONLY the top third of the can on low heat until the guts can be pulled out. That's where the tar is anyway so heating any more of the can is redundant as well as risky. I speak from experience; I have destroyed more than one while revising my rebuilding procedure.
