Good Unseen Item
Of course these sit under your seat and you rarely see them unless they give you trouble. My helm seat was stolen by some low life idiots so I needed everything but the pedestal, which they were too weak or stupid to remove. As my old seat was a Springfield 3/8 I thought this would work well and it does. Could not beat the price and it is set up to take a front to rear slide for even more comfort. I mounted the slide and seat and it's off to the races.

Good for what I'm using them for
This is an OK display sword, which is what I am using it for. The blade is fine for a display 13 feet up in my study. Much closer and they would be seen for what they are: basically stage props that could hurt you. I bought two from different sources as I want the swords crossed behind a shield with the family crest. I got what I wanted and they will be fine up there.

Not junk, but serious problems
Whoever refurbished this unit should be fired.
1. The device is incredibly noisy. As far as I can determine the jar does not fit on the base properly, leaving play in the connectors for the blade unit. The whole thing vibrates as a result and I expect it would wear out quickly.
2. The cover does not appear to be of Cuisinart quality. It is flimsy and doesn’t fit as one would expect on a Cuisinart product. We have other Cuisinart devices.
3. The motor does not run at a constant rate - it speeds up and slows down with no human intervention.
4. As another reviewer states, the unit emits an odor I associate with burning wire.
5. The plug for the cover falls into the jar. This can be a problem when making a drink or anything else.
Sadly, I was hoping this would be a quality device, worthy of Cuisinart. It turned out to be somewhat less. It’s going back.
