I'd say it's a great addition to have.

Great product. I bought this so I could play using different effects and amp models while living in an apartment with very limited space and sleeping neighbors. It is really great to be able to have all the distortion you want while using headphones at a reasonable volume! Being able to run it through your computer as a recording device and sound card just makes it even better. One word of advice: Read the manual. There are a lot of buttons and knobs!
