Classic for a reason
The 588 series is still in the bags of some of the best players in golf, including Ryder cup members. The rounded head classics are always going to be a classic. Large sweet spot and they come in my different grinds and finishes such as Tour Satin Chrome, RTG "Raw Tour Grind", Gunmetal, Copper, and of course, chrome.
588 wedges last forever. Take care of your wedges by cleaning the grooves with hot water and a toothpick or tee. You'll be glad you did.

Fli-Hi but not going to Fli Far !
3 of 3 found this helpful The Fli-Hi does exactly what Mizuno appears to have designed it to do; that is, fly higher than the MP series 3 & 4 irons that come standard in the set and with relative ease. With a larger clubhead, larger sweet spot and slightly wider sole and top line, the Fli-Hi promotes better contact with the ball and produces better results.
Typical ball flight is higher than the 3 & 4 iron you will find in the set but not any further.
For those looking for distance upgrades, look to the CLK series hybrids. I personally love this club and feel it goes best with the MP 57 series irons. Thanks for reading my review!

Underrated!
I am a single digit handicap player who can drive and putt but needs improvement in the ball striking category. This instantly relates to missed greens with iron approach shots. As such, I am unable to play "blades" with the longer irons in my bag (e.g., 3, 4, 5 iron).
When I went to the market to test a set of forgiving "player cavity" clubs, I had the following criteria in mind:
1. No offset
2. Thin top line
3. Wide enough sole to promote less "dig" into the turf
I tried just about everything I could and ended up with the Cobra 2300 I/M. This series seems to have been "outshined" by the CB series (perhaps because the Tour players are playing these models) and also the FP series. It also gets wrongly "labeled" and grouped with the 3100 and SS series.
What I've found is that the 2300 I/M sets up just the same as any of the true Players Cavity irons on the market. They compliment my Mizuno MP57 short irons quite well. The satin finish has no glare and they are soft, soft, soft no matter where I strike them on the clubface.
I carry the 4-6 irons and despite the critics who think you must carry all the same manufacturers irons in your bag - it works for me!
Try the 2300 I/M. You'll be glad you did.
