Engine Cooling Fan Clutch ACDelco GM Original Equipment 15-40133

    Stick wtih the OEM
When the mechanic said the water pump in my 2003 TrailBlazer needed replacement, I kept reading that if you replace the pump, you should replace the fan clutch as well because many times they fail at practically the same time. So I went to the local nationally know auto parts store and purchased parts including their own brand of fan clutch. Now, mind you, their fan clutch was not cheap, upwards of $200 with a good warranty to boot. And its a little tricky to replace the fan clutch. I installed that fan clutch and started the truck. Sounded like a jet aircraft taking off. Not just once, but every time the vehicle was started and worse when the outside temperature was low. At least for the first quarter mile or so till it would finally calm down and sound normal and quiet. The info that came with the clutch said that this was normal operation. No way was I going to listen to this every time I started up in a crowded parking lot and scared the bejeevees out of all the old ladies going into the drug store. I purchased the original equipment supplier, (in this case the manufacturer is Behr) from this ebay seller. Yes! It costs a little more. First time startup was louder than normal for the fluids to stabilize and go to where it needs to be, and then.....blissfully quiet.....just like the original one that I had on for the last 13 years. Looks are deceiving! Stick with the OEM!
SBC SMALL BLOCK CHEVY FINNED TALL POLISHED ALUMINUM VALVE COVERS & holes 283
    Aug 08, 2017
    Finned, Polished covers
While you may certainly be able to find highly polished, almost chrome-like valve covers, these covers fit the bill nicely for me and didn't break the bank. The covers are of good quality and very good looking, polished, but not polished with a mirror-like finish. Also, some of the sandblasting, or etching between the fins was overshot onto the polished areas, not noticeable to anyone except those with a discriminating eye to detail. (Look at photo 2, front of cover, just behind the alternator mounting bolt. This is typical of both ends of the valve covers.) In addition, there seems to be a left and right to the covers. When viewed from the end, one side of the cover is more squared off at the top corner, and the other side is more angled, perhaps to be installed with the angled side up toward the intake because the push rods are angled out of the block and the rocker arms and springs are more straight up and down. In my installation, I installed them "backwards" because I wanted the oil fill hole to be forward on the driver's side and the PCV hole to be rearward on the passenger side as it had been with the old covers. (You can install the baffles on either or both holes.) Had I installed them with the angled side up toward the intake, it would have placed the driver's side hole to the rear and the passenger's side hole to the front. Then if I chose to keep my oil fill in the front for better access, it would have been relocated to the passenger side and I would have had to re-plumb the PCV to the driver's side. Not major problems, but sometimes I'm just a creature of habit. Clearance of the roller rockers when installed this way should not be a problem because of the tall nature of the covers. Because my heads were machined, I also used extra thick valve cover gaskets to provide additional clearance so I would not have to grind any material off the new valve covers at the manifold intake runners. I've posted pictures of before with the old painted covers and after with the new covers. Overall, the valve covers are good looking, good solid quality, and very competitively priced.
    Grant Products 5631 Horn Button

    Nice looking horn button.
Horn button looks good. Only time will tell if it will hold up. I have not yet installed it, but I have read other reviews that were critical because the horn buttons tend to pop off. I don't know if that will be an issue or not. We will see.
