An excellent jazz recording by the Sun Ra Arkestra under the guidance of Ma
The Sun Ra Arkestra under the guidance of Mr. Allen never misses a beat. Yes Sun Ra has moved on to the next cosmos, but the band is still with us. This set is fairly standard and the avant garde experiences are kept to a minimum. On the other hand some favs are also missing like "We Travel the Spaceways" and "Space is the Place". However the Ra catalog is large. That said four tunes on this recording are creditted to Marshall Allen. A good CD. Not essential, but good!

Good value compared to the other products out there. Was considering Audioquest's cheapest XLR.
0 of 1 found this helpful A slight, but cheap, improvement in the sound over my Monster Cable RCA interconnects. Warmer sound. Bass is a little deeper or more pronounced. Not excessive or boomy. Just slightly more forward in the sound. Midrange, THE STRENGHT OF MY SYSTEM, REMAINS GOOD. I did not notice anything different about the treble. Pace of the music was good. Did not have much of a soundstage on the recording in terms of width or depth. This is a first impression however as I have only had one serious listening session with a less than awesomely recorded CD.

Milestone box set provides great music
Joe Henderson's years on Milestone have sort of been overlooked between his early days on Blue Note and his later days on Verve. This box set totally solves that problem if you are a JH fan! this is also cheaper than chasing down all the old Milestone vinyl copies and having to search to find those in decent (excellent) condition.
