VAUXHALL OPEL ZAFIRA A MK1 REAR WINDSCREEN WIPER ARM AND BLADE SET BRAND NEW
    Apr 20, 2017
    A wiper's a wiper no?
This purchase was not for a Zafira by Vauxhall/Opel ("thank god"), it was for an upgrade wiper to replace the factories standard short rear wiper arm. I dont know if you have noticed but most modern hatch backs and even 4x4's have really stupid short rear wipers that only clear "just" the right amount of rear visibility and leave a huge amount of untouched glass on your rear screen, im pretty sure they make them like this these days because of the cosmetic "trend" factor and well, less plastic here and there ends up saving the manufacturers money at the end of the day! Having a very short hatchback with a huge rear all glass back and a tiny wiper along with drive on a very dirty and busy road leaves me with a filthy rear screen and with just a clearing of less than a quarter of a screen means i lack visibility to the point that the rear screen becomes a blind spot. So, why fit a Zafira blade and arm to a Toyota Aygo? and why this one? Its bigger and most of these after market non OEM blades have simple fittings, the fitting to this blade arm is called a specific fitting, in laments terms you have a cap that covers a soft alloy collet or washer, your standardised stem of the wiper motor that extracts through the glass or body simple pushes through the collet or washer and tightens down by a nut (you may need a puller tool when trying to remove your old one). in some cases the washer on the blades arm may be smaller in diameter than your cars wiper motor stem but this is the good news because the washer on the new arm can be drilled out to a bigger size giving you a good and snug fit. Having a larger arm and blade on your rear screen clears more surface area (a bit obvious) so if you are unhappy with your OEM's performance there are options out there, just check the fitting and take measurements such as how long is too long? What to look out for: there are some very cheap blades and arms on the market, really cheap from China (As little as £0.99p) but beware of 2 factors - the first being build quality (yeah its only a piece of plastic but replacing your rear glass because of deep scratches from a poor quality blade will cost you a small fortune!), so in the product images look for hollow backed blade arms, if the blade arm is hollowed when looking from the rear of the wiper arm this is a bad thing because the chance of the arm deforming due to weather and tension under force (say in operation whilst travelling at 70mph) it is likely the arm may deform resulting in the blade tipping in towards the glass and the blade housing making contact with the rear screen, you will get scratches sooner or later and they may become very deep, the remedy to this is a blade arm that isn't hollow, where the rear of the arm has been filled in with a honeycomb of plastic from its injection moulding process, a criss crossed, latticed or honey comb filling of plastic will add to the robustness of the arm which will stop distortion and deformation, this blade the review came from had a lattice of inner plastic. The second thing to check for is the blades fitting, if its universal or standardised or if its some crazy weird fitting you'll never get another blade to fit onto again, so check what you have already on your old arm and see if you can get a matching fitting too. If they are cheap or cheaper than an OEM arm or arm and blade set DOES NOT suggest they are not the same or as good at all just keep in mind if its too cheaply priced corners may have been cut, just view the images and rear the descriptions of the listings and then compare with other listings of the same item to look for differences.

    The Last Temptation of Christ
The Last temptation of christ DVD - is excellent value for money and a good film. I have always liked the film when it first came out, some years ago now, and can now watch it at my leisure. It has not dated and actually adds another dimension to the theme of the De Vinci Code and was as controversial in its day! For all who like a thought provoking film then this is the one to watch. Good acting, beautiful scenery, and excellent quality in DVD format. It always leaves me emotionally charged and profoundly overcome in its portrayal of Christ's last temptation with a fantastic twist to the ending. Worth watching !!
