The McKenna family will "hook" you into suspense and adventures!!
I've read the entire series and each book stands on its own but refers back to beginning book, "Shadowed". This is a novella in book "Sins of the Past" with two other authors and Pettrey introduces the McKenna parents [Ben/Libby] which helped me keep a perspective in reading other books to follow. I would recommend to a potential reader to do the same as it sets the story/family/town. After that I read the other 5 books in order. Each one is captivating, suspenseful, has a mystery or incident to track, family oriented. It is based on the varied recreation, activities, sports in Alaska as well as a small town. My favorite has been "Submerged" but have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Once you start reading, it's good to have them all available as you'll want to keep the momentum. I highly recommend this author & this is a series I would reread at later date.

All ends well...
The book wasn't in greatest shape, small paperback with small print. I probably didn't pay attention, I'm sure, when ordered. But the story was absolutely wonderful and has a mystery intertwined. I've read Maggie Osborne's other books and, again, great stories.

One of my favorite authors, can always count on a good story line & great characters. Book rec'd in excellent shape.
