Quilter 101 is a behemoth of options in a small package
3 of 3 found this helpful I play many styles of music, I want options and I want nothing but top notch tone. I don't want to constantly have my tube amp in the shop every 4-6 months despite its awesome tone. So a compromise has to be met somewhere. Well, the Quilter 101 mini is where a compromise is easily made and with flying colors. I personally think that Quilter has successfully cracked the code when it comes to accurately emulating the response of a tube amp when being played under any situation, volume and circumstance.
I have been playing for 20+ years and have owned and played through too many amps to name here without being obnoxious. This amp is a hellion! It sounds wonderful and accurate. It is exactly what I need. No complaints. Only compiments. Get one. You will not be disappointed.

Very wide for average vocal mics
1 of 1 found this helpful These are well made but...problem is, they're very large holes for most vocal mics. I own a couple EV vocal mics which are actually slightly larger than standard SM58's. These were too big for them. The mics basically went right to the very end where the vocal screens begin to come up. That's just not how it should be. It's unfortunate because they're well made. If you have larger mics it's fine. Most vocal mics are not larger. If you own 57's, forget it - these won't hold them. Simply too big. Now maybe if you heat these up with a heat gun and pinch them together, you can rectify the situation. How many people own a heat gun? I rest my case.
I ended up ordering other mic clips that are actually standard size. These are not standard size.

Excellent for the money!
Been doing sound for many years. These are pretty accurate given they're only $99. Cant think of any othe phones that will be sonically neutral for the price. Don't expect incredible fidelity and stereo field accuracy of those that cost much more but you also won't feel like you're missing important details in a mix. They're as accurate as you can ask for - if you're mixing, that's, IMO, is the mos important component of monitor headphones.
