LuckyCellInc S4 Active Mid-frame replacement
I replace a number of mid-frames to refurbish phones suffering damage or wear. I look for a good price but I also need exact fit to replace the old part. LuckyCellInc hits it out of the park on this one - great price and excellent fit and finish. I used this to rebuild an S4 Active that had almost been broken in half - barely held together by a strip of plastic on one side of the battery compartment. A new screen and front frame assembly, this mid-frame and a new battery cover restored this phone to its former function and beauty. Note that there are four screws at the corners hidden under shiny decorative stickers that have to be carefully removed to access the screws. When assembled, I only got case warnings when the charger port rubber plug was not inserted or the battery cover was loose. The S4 Active is supposed to be water resistant and this part holds up its function in that respect.

Beware Dorman 905-300
This part is commonly sold as a replacement for the Ford 1M5Z-4A013AA rear spindle shaft used on models of the Focus with rear drum brakes. My ABS sensor (YS4Z-2C190-BB) and "Tone Ring" magnet assembly (5S4Z-2B384-AA) were both damaged as a result of using this part. Measure carefully! The part I bought at a national retailer was slightly different in dimension from the Ford OEM part resulting in the ABS sensor extending too far into the drum area. This caused destruction of the "Tone Ring" as well as the ABS sensor itself. The car also had an instability in the rear when hitting bumps in the road that disappeared when a Ford OEM shaft was installed that leads me to believe that Dorman spindle shaft flexes more than the OEM part either because of the thinner flange or different steel characteristics. The OEM shaft base flange is 0.400" (new part) to 0.415" (old part with surface scale and rust scraped off) - the Dorman was 0.395". The Dorman part also had a difference in the height above the bottom of the flange (the reference surface for the ABS sensor) that aggravated the tolerance further resulting in a difference of 0.025" from the OEM part. That put the tip of the ABS sensor below the ferrite magnet bonded to the attachment ring which caused the sensor to be forced back and eroded at a 30 - 40 degree angle as well as scraping chunks of the magnet off. Other than the issue of flexing differently than the OEM part, the part should not have problems on non-ABS models of the Focus. The problem with flexing could be addressed by replacing both spindles so that their characteristics match. The difference in price is five to six fold, so price-wise this is feasible other than the labor to change out an extra spindle. I do not feel that this is a viable replacement on a Focus with ABS unless you measure before installing. My experience may have been with a part that was out of tolerance but if the flange is less than 0.400" thick, I'm pretty sure you will have similar problems to what I had. The retailer refunded the purchase price of the Dorman spindle shaft but I'm still out the cost of the "Tone Ring" and ABS sensor $60 - $70. BUYER BEWARE!

Round Shaft Style LED Shower Head
I bought this more than six months ago, so this review is based on extensive use. This device uses the water flowing through it to generate the electricity needed to light multicolored LEDs. This means that low flow rates don't produce enough power to light the LEDs. This usually isn't a problem for our family's use. Don't expect the LEDs to light an unlit bathroom - it's not that bright! We have very hard water but that hasn't affected the LED output so far. I have had to run my fingers over the rubber nozzles to dislodge mineral buildup from time to time. My wife loves this because it rinses her hair better than any other shower head we have used. The only negative about this shower head is the hose - it does not seem to be firmly crimped or attached to the end connector and during use the hose seems to unscrew from the fitting. This is simply corrected by hand tightening. This has not been a severe enough problem to warrant opening the hose ends to see why it backs off. Overall - a fun device for the shower with the ability to put a lot of water in a small area making it great for rinsing even very long hair.
