Nikon 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8 Lens (Black)

I nice little lens in a limited ecosystem

The ecosystem of the Nikon 1 is certainly very limited. I have most of native lens there are to this camera. The zoom lenses are serviceable but nothing outstanding. However I have the 18.5mm prime and the 10mm prime and they are really both pretty good lenses. The 18.5mm in particular is pretty fast and makes the Nikon 1 system take some fairly respectable shots even in low light. Understand of course that the small size of Nikon 1 sensor means that the pictures will always come out a bit flat compared to a larger format sensor. That however is a very different topic.

Good little budget Reverb

This does what it claims it will do. It has a better than expected build quality; being alluminium instead of plastic. It has the standard time based effects and some limited but surprising harmonising effects. You could not get more for the price. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was that I felt that I have to reserve the 5th star for something mind blowing.

Lauten Audio LA120 - Small-diaphragm Pair

OK, it is worth buying.

This set has some nice features, I haven't seen any budget mic with these features, so this is definitely its strong point. The build quality is reasonable, but the AKG perception 170 is much better. What is most important for any small diaphragm mic is the self noise. For this it is quite acceptable. But according to my own tests the Avantone CK-1 was better. All in all, it is a good mic to have in your locker because it has a "different" quality that is nice to have.
