Nikon D7100 Digital SLR Camera Body 24mp - Black - Low Shutter Count 6405.

One of the best APSC cameras ever produced.

I was thinking of replacing my D7000 in itself a great camera, and moving on to full frame as most of my lenses are for that format anyway. But at twice the cost second hand for a D750, I decided on the D7100 and I'm glad I did. 24mpx compared to the !6mpx of it's predecessor, handy when there is heavy cropping involved. A better autofocus system too with the ability to autofocus in less light and also the ability to change from manual ISO to auto instantly without resorting to the menu as before. There is a better screen too compared to the D7000. Looking at the great results, even in normal quality I cannot think what the advantages would be in a more expensive, bulkier and heavier FX camera. Instead, save your money for some lenses. The only minor annoyance is the new lock button for the mode dial which has to be pressed to change modes. Completely unnecessary.

Compact, fast, and great image quality.

I needed a wide angle to standard zoom for my Nikon D7100 to save having to carry three lenses but needed it to have a large aperture for those low light conditions, and to be able to use fast shutter speeds. The Nikon equivalent was prohibitively expensive so read some very positive reviews on this lens as an alternative. Now, having tried it, I found the hype was correct, This lens is pin sharp even wide open at f2.8 which is quite unusual, and offers the same image quality as any of my Nikon lenses. This lens does not have image stabilisation, or VR and I think at these focal lengths it is is an unnecessary complication, merely adding to the cost, size and weight. There is no built in autofocus motor, instead relying on the one in the camera. AF speed is fast and accurate.

Good design

This works as it should and is very well designed. The brake is better placed than other tape measures and it the tape is marked clearly on both sides. Watch the magnets at the end though. they will attract everything ferrous in your pocket.
