Scale not set up for light loads under 500#

At least for trailers weighing less than 10,000#
Tried two of them and both wouldn't register anything with my ~250# tongue and me standing on it 175#
So for trying to set up my lightweight trailer ~2K# and light load ~2K# it showed me nothing
Not the tool for positioning loads in modest sized trailers that I had hoped for.
May be accurate for tongue loads over 1000# but didn't budge for tongue loads ~ 500 #
