It sure is a radiator cap
It's a radiator cap, it opens when it should, it closes when it should, I couldn't be happier. It also allows me to open a hot coolant system without burning myself to a crisp

A great cover for a fantastic car
Oh this cover is way more clever than I originally thought. I installed the cover in less than 3 minutes. The front blocker that meets the second row seat backs is a fantastic detail to truly block out the rear cargo area. The material is clean and tight still, with fantastic build quality and tight tolerances.
My favorite part of this cover is not something the cover itself does, but the attention to detail Subaru has. This cover actually has a specific spot carved out from the factory under the rear cargo panel where the spare tire and tools are stored. It's a bit of a tight fit, but being able to store the cover in the car, without taking up any interior space. This is light years ahead of most other car brands out there
