David McCullough's writing never disappoints; he is a master at portraying all the aspects of history that are fascinating. Here he finds the significant as well as curious and obscure facts about notable giants, making the stories of their achievements both impressive and accessible to the reader.

One of the best I Can Read series of books for Young Children
The "Little Bear" series by Else Minarik, illustrated by Maurice Sendak was one of my favorite set of books as a child, and the content is still precious and compelling to children either being read to or starting out reading on their own.
