CPU worked and did what I expected.
I bought this to upgrade a single core Celeron processor in an old Toshiba laptop. It did what I expected, that is made a ridiculously slow computer halfway usable. It was worth the eight bucks or so, and I wanted to clean the heat sink anyway. It isn't "easy" to install. It helps to have some experience with laptops, CPU's and coolers. This Toshiba laptop was not tricky to work on. Your mileage may vary. Overseas delivery was much faster than I expected.

Is what it is
The part was either identical or very similar to the original, and it worked. It appeared to be new and came with standoffs. I am puzzled as to why the original part should have failed after two years with a shorted switching transistor, but the price of the replacement board made a board-level repair an easy decision.
