Buying the genuine AC adapter is usually best practise.
The item is probably better known as the PA-4E rather than the PA-12 family of AC adapters for Dell laptops.
This is not your ordinary generic adapter, but one from the same specification as used by Dell in their supply of high-end laptops.
The principal difference between the generic adapters and this genuine item apart, from quality guarantee, is the inclusion of the LED illumination band on the DC plug -- other 130 Watt adapters use a standard plug without the nice blue ring of LED illumination.
This feature is a better way to show "power-available" than the usual LED on the adapter case.
Laptop power adapters are a mature item in the design and manufacture aspects, and the failures most users experience are due to excessive flexing force at or very close to the DC power plug. The Dell computers use three wires in the DC cable and the fine wire to the thin centre pin of the plug is usually the first one to fail through rough usage.

Latest version of a proven product.
Very useful item, shows how much charge rate is also dependent on cable length and quality..
Also allows user to monitor end of charge on devices without built-in charge indication.

Condor Pressure Switch with unloading valve.
My compressor (made in Germany in 1989) used the original Condor MDR2 unit.
It never failed, but I did. When the compressors non-return valve stuck, I blamed the pressure switch and subsequently broke the unloading valve's zinc casting housing during dismantling.. This meant replacing the whole unit. Unfortunately, the passage of time had brought design changes which resulted in some bits and pieces needed to mate the current versions mounting to the compressor receiver.
That is when I discovered that the non-return was the culprit.
Condor pressure controllers are the best available.
Still waiting for the synthetic plug for the NRV..
