macos 12 recognizes it as usb 3.0, 5400rpm drives purr, I like the easy on the eyes red leds, simple to cover with tape too

Great firewire 800 toaster/dock

Had to format my 4TB drive in another dock, but once formatted, this dock read/writes fine. You just can't beat the functionality of firewire 800. The blue lights are a little bright, but they are too bright on all devices these days. Buy 2 or more and daisy chain them together.
