A great (true) story!
This is a great love story that is set against the backdrop of the "War of Northern Aggression" (as the South knew it) but, sometimes referred to as "The Civil War" (although this war between two fully independent and established countries does not meet the definition of a "civil war").
The fact that the main character is played by a descendent makes the film all the more enjoyable. The leading lady is stunning, charming, and delightful! This is a great movie about honor, courage, duty... and the enduring power of love!
