NEW! MAKITA - XMT03Z 18-VOLT LXT LITHIUM-ION CORDLESS MULTI-TOOL BARE TOOL ONLY
Nov 04, 2016
Really smooth!
I bought this, and the new DeWalt Multitool and prefer the Makita. The Makita has a different kind of handle, basically a big straight handle about 2" in diameter the whole length while the DeWalt has a pistol grip like their drills that is maybe an inch in diameter. The DeWalt seems much lighter, which is good I guess for some people but it also has one effect from being lighter that is not good, IMO, heavy vibration. The Makita vibration is dampered a lot more and it seems more stable when cutting whereas the DeWalt seems jumpy in comparison. The Makita has the typical switch and speed control where you push a switch on the top and it's on, then you can vary the speed by the little speed wheel. The DeWalt has a trigger like a drill, and you vary the speeed just like you would with a drill. You can start out slow on the DeWalt and increase the speed by pulling in on the trigger. You can lock the DeWalt speed at it's maximum with a button, however, so that way you don't have to hold the trigger in the whole time, which can be tiring. So, as owners of both multitools I would choose the Makita, one because I don't like to hold in the trigger on the DeWalt as it only gives you one way to hold it, and two, the lightness of the DeWalt makes it vibrate like crazy. The Makita makes you feel more confident in your cuts because it's lack of vibration makes it seem more stable. I also have the Milwaukee M12 multitool, and the Fein corded multitool (shows how much these tools impress me!) and the Makita holds it's own with any of them. I would recommend the Makita multitool, especially if you have Makita 18V batteries and other Makita cordless tools. The DeWalt vibrates more than any of my other multitools, so keep that in mind if considering the DeWalt.
This clip on tuner WILL recognize the low E string on a guitar consistently!
This is the best clip-on tuner I've ever used, and I've used a bunch of them! Snark, Fender, Korg, all pale in comparison to this tuner. The biggest advantage of this tuner is that it recognizes the low E string consistently. It also has a very good clip and is very sensitive and accurate.
