Excellent spread of light
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought the mounting kit to fit it and screwed plywood inside as a back, so it's a portable stand-alone light. What I have is cool-running 300 watt floodlight for shooting videos in my studio. The spread of light across the front diffuser is excellent - no dim or bright patches at all.
If you're an artist (I am) then I'm certain this would also make an excellent lightbox for tracing purposes.

It works... sort of
I have six 6 watt LED lamps running off it. It dims from bright to almost off... but all the dimming is between positions 5 and 4. Not a problem and it might not occur if was running a higher combined wattage.
Temporarily after fitting the lamps I was using the old dimmer which caused flickering at full brightness (as expected). Does not happen with this dimmer - rock steady illumination.
Snap on cover looks good. Had to remove it twice while decorating. It survived but I wouldn't want to do it too often. They're fairly strong lugs that don't look as though they'd break easily, but...

Superb product
It's solid, dependable, and beautifully engineered. Everything about is sturdy and well-finished, and the steel is possibly thicker than it needs to be.
Mine is not holding a monitor. I have it mounted upside down on the ceiling where it's supporting a 4.8kg LED light panel that I use as a video light. The only modification was a hole drilled through the vertical tube to fit a safety stop. It's otherwise, apart from being upside down, exactly as you would use it for a monitor. If I can trust it to hold a 2 feet square light panel 8 feet up in the ceiling, believe me - I'd trust it with any monitor.
