ONIX 400- The BEST Low Cost GPS Unit Available for Precise Navigation
2 of 2 found this helpful I discovered the ONIX 400 when I was searching through the Web to figure out which GPS was the BEST GPS unit made for navigational purposes. The ONLY GPS units that even come Close to the same Features offered in the ONIX 400 are Professional Aviation GPS units that cost Thousands of Dollars. When Bushnell made the ONIX 400 they were pushing the very edge of all the Technology that is currently available. I found this unit a joy to play around with.
It has many Customizable Features that allows you to set up the Display to display whatever kind of information you feel is most important to you. I have 3 other GPS units, and the ONIX 400 is the most precise out of them all. The only glitch I found was when you are standing still the Map jumps around alittle because it looks as if the Software is trying to predict which direction you are planing to go, and it really doesn't know until you begin to move, then it locks on position very clearly. It is so precise and accurate as I was carrying it around I kept thinking "This is the kind of thing the Military would probably buy" :) Those who have not been Satisfied with this model generally are the types of people who are not really Computer Literate, and would rather cartoons jump out of the screen to explain how to use it, rather than playing with it until you learn how to use it.
Also reading the manual might help a little :)
I am very Satisfied with this unit, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is SERIOUS about Navigation.

IT WORKS
I am over 50 and when you get this age you start to notice a difference in your Sex drive. Small, but Surprisingly good performance!
I bought this because I am setting up a DJ system using a Computer, and one of the things I learned is that it is better to use an External Sound Card than an Internal Sound Card because there is a lot of Noise inside the Computer. I bought this to check it out to see if it would work for this particular application, and I was impressed! The unit is very small it will fit in your pocket, but Windows 7 had no problem automatically detecting and installing it. It worked straight out of the package. I noticed more Clarity in the Sound Signal compared to the internal sound card, this delivers a very clear crisp signal, and when I am running it through a power amp and big huge speakers that is important. This is a good quality item at a very reasonable price! THANKS!
