Depicts essential family values.

This story depicts wonderful and enduring family values - as the family grows and the reader becomes acquainted with each member it feels like we are part of their family and their neighborhood. I do shed tears because it is a poignant reminder that loving and respecting others is essential to our well being no matter how our individual families or circumstances evolve. My five year old granddaughter says "This book seems to make everyone who is nice cry. It's like- if you have a good heart you need to read this story and you will cry".
