Wow! Smaller, yet better than expected
This Ontario Rat D2 tan / black is the sharpest knife I’ve ever had right out of the box. Ergonomics could be better, just love the speedsafe line of Kershaw SK much, but this is a thinner and higher quality blade than my other Kershaw a. Excellent knife here! Bought two and glad I did. One for me and one for a friend!

Spyderco BYRD Meadowlark 2 is EXCELLENT Value for mid-priced knife
If I were more of a snob, I would ONLY purchase original SPYDERCO knives, however, I am not a snob and just need a basic knife to keep a good edge and last the beatings it will take being an EDC. I love this knife, it's my second one (lost the other one accidentally at airport security check in only because it's so easy to forget about this great knife because of its light weight and how thin it is).
Spyderco's BYRD line uses a 8CR13MoV steel, which is on the mid tier of steel choices, but it also is a great value because of its economical level of price / performance. I love that it is 100% steel with no plastic or rubberized handles. It looks sleek, it is very thin, and feels just fine. For $25, you can't get a better knife as far as I'm concerned. If I were to buy a knife for all of my friends, this would be IT.
