Excellent upgrade to older analog gauge.
2 of 2 found this helpful This gauge is very nice. I can now see my engine hours and numerous other functions from my 225 Optimax engine.
Thankfully the communications cable was included with the particular package that I ordered. Otherwise, it would have been frustrating to wait on another order.
If you are adding any of the Smartcraft gauges, and are currently running older analog gauges, you must also have the CAN harness.
There are resistors added on both ends of the harness that allow the gauge to work properly.
My biggest complaint is the placing and running of the CAN harness from the motor to my Champion boat dash.
Use a fish tape, drink a few beers, and remain calm. The other review I read said, "Quick and easy installation done in about 10 minutes."
Mine took a couple days and probably 50 tries with various fish tapes. (Again, my particular boat model, not the gauge's problem.)
The ending result is priceless and comforting when you can see what your motor is doing.
Update: The 3rd time taking boat out, I got an alarm.
I was just pulling out of cove starting a tournament, when the gauge went nuts. Overtemp alarm. I immediately thought the gauge was giving a false alarm. But the display was showing me my engine temp and was steadily rising.
Long story short, after pulling boat out and doing some checking, the gasket had blown out on my water pump. Thank you Smartcraft for saving my motor and not getting stranded on the lake. Money well spent.

Throw your old large stereo out!
3 of 3 found this helpful Debated on buying this or a 80's style jukebox. After researching price to maintain and "keep up" a jukebox, I decided on this JBL speaker.
I get more comments on how spectacular the LED lighting is while playing the music. The sound is of course top notch.
The DJ pad on top is ok, just not my thing. I also use as my guitar speaker with included jack.
I basically look at this as I saved money by buying 1 speaker, verses a jukebox and guitar amp and speaker.
Again, the sound is top notch. I would love to buy a 2nd one and make a pair, but honestly you do not need too with the sound that 1 of these produce!
Nice job JBL!
