Genius Lens Cap Idea
The JJC Auto Self-Retaining Lens Cap is a genius idea. The auto lens cap screws onto the camera body. When you power up the camera, three leafs that make up the cap automatically open when the lens extends. The lens cap automatically closes when you retract the lens. The lens cap leafs do not interfere with the view through the lens.
The install is simple. Remove the camera's lens barrel ring (not the lens) and screw on the new lens cap assembly. Be sure to store your old lens barrel ring in a safe place, in case you need it at some future date.
The lens cap is made of a nice quality plastic, and fits perfectly on my camera. The leaf mechanisms for the lens cap have spring loaded hinges and function smoothly. While I cannot attest to its long-term durability, from my observations, I have no reason to doubt that the Auto Self-Retracting Lens Cap will give great service.
As an added bonus, my order included a new premier cleaning cloth. Nice extra!
Best of all, you never lose your lens cap again!
