Inexpensive and it Works
1 of 1 found this helpful This trunk/hatch actuator replaces the factory OEM unit at about a third of the cost. However, there is one issue that needs to be mentioned. On our car, a VW Passat Wagon, the original unit had threaded brass sleeves in the plastic actuator housing. This unit does not have any sleeves or threads, which means you must find suitably small, but long screws, and use nuts, and maybe some lock washers or loctite. Not too big of a deal, but it does stop it from being a direct bolt-in replacement. (Also, we did remove the original brass sleeves and attempted to fit them into the new unit, they are of a different diameter and won't fit.) Otherwise the product works fine.

High Quality Ace Type Vending Machine Cam Lock
Good quality heavy duty vending cam lock with Ace type high security lock and a set of two keys. Doesn't feel light weight or cheap and operates well. The only complaint would be it doesn't come with mounting screws, bolts, or nuts and appears made for a carriage type bolt through the mounting plate.

Heavy Duty Capacitor
This is a Heavy Duty Motor Start Capacitor that meets or exceeds the original mfg specifications. The housing is sized as a direct replacement piece and requires no modifications for installation or for wiring. Works as described.
