You get what you pay for..
1 of 1 found this helpful I mean, the cylinder seems fine however I couldn’t use the piston that came with it, I literally had to hammer the piston out of the cylinder (the package comes with the piston already in the cylinder) it is an incredibly tight fit so much so that it is not usable. My advice, if possible; SAVE YOUR OLD PISTON. I had to use my old piston because it was the only one that would fit the cylinder bore. The rings are fine and I got lucky with the gaskets not being torn this time. Pretty much this kit is just a cylinder, rings, and gaskets. I would not recommend using the piston it comes with even as a last resort. If you have the ability to use an old piston then this kit would be good for you.

The 8 Gauge wire is AWG, but not OFC.
I bought this kit not expecting OFC wire, or really anything of great quality at all (I mean, check that price out) I would NEVER use CCA as power or ground wire at all. However, I got this kit specifically to use just the 8 gauge wire as speaker wire on my Kicker 07CVR154s and it worked out awesome! I got what I wanted from it, I don’t know that the power wire is as long as it says in the description, but it was plenty enough for my application. I cannot complain, but I advise anyone who’s looking at getting into car audio to steer clear of kits like this to power your amp, CCA (copper clad aluminum) wire gets much hotter and has much more resistance than OFC (oxygen free copper) and there’s a much higher chance for failure, IE, wires melting or catching on fire, corrosion, arching, and so on. Ask me how I know. In my case, 10ga or even 12ga speaker wire would have worked just fine, but wanted the biggest wire I could fit and since it was CCA I wanted a thicker wire, rule of thumb is if it’s CCA, go up a size or 2 in wire thickness than what’s required. I have to rate it 4 stars because the wire lengths are questionable and the description is slightly misleading, but for the money it is great for specific applications.
