Adventures in quickly being dead
Wouldn't you like to participate in Star Trek? You would? Oh good, me too! OK, here's your ship, and here's a destination -- let's go! Aw, you're dead. OK, that happens; let's try it again -- off you go! OK you've gotten someplace, now let's try to -- oh, you're dead again. Back to the beginning ... You know what -- maybe that wasn't the best place to start; let's go somewhere else ... here we go! Now we're ready to have the fun! Oh, you're dead. Care to try again?

Just what it says
Yep, a list of every name in the Bible, accompanied by another version spelled so you can pronounce it correctly. And that's all it is.

A good companion to the first release
By itself, this album is not essential, but merely of some additional interest. But it is a good companion to the first Woodstock album. That album -- an important document of its time -- benefited from a lot of judicious editing. Which made it a better album than it had a right to be, but more titled toward how people wanted that event to be perceived, rather than how it actually was.
W2 is different, in that it admits more of the haphazard quality which characterized the actual Woodstock experience. In some ways this may not age well; in others, it is a fantastically real representation. High expectations won't help; this was a floundering time for Hendrix and a final bow for the Airplane, and the acoustic acts were never meant for so large a stage. The electric bands which finish the album were soon eclipsed by other, bigger names. But when ageing Boomers wooze serenely over them heady days, this is what it really sounded like.
Highlights: Jefferson Airplane's "Eskimo Blue Day", Joan Baez "Sweet Sir Galahad", CSNY "Marrakesh Express"
