Fantastic regulator, very versatile
Not only can you regulate your battery bank's wind/solar input, you can set this up to isolate a 2nd (or in my case a 3rd) battery in your vehicle. I am adding an Agm deep cycle to help the old Powerstroke start during the cold months.
You can cut incoming power, you can divert incoming power, you can set up a load to reduce bank voltage, you can get a couple of these controllers and setup a cascading system of charging isolated battery banks. Once you really take a look at what these California made units can do, you start to realize tons and tons of setups where this thing would be perfect.
I am using a couple to regulate a battery charger I built with a 9hp engine and 2x Thermodyne PMA's that charge a 12v and a 24v bank overnight when needed. Bob from Thermodyne called me to ask about my project when I was ordering PMA's to ensure I got what I needed.
I have more of these regulators otw for the thermodyne wind turbines I'll be setting up soon.
Buy it, buy several. You'll use them. Even better, look at Thermodyne's 500 amp double pole relay for switching beefy loads without a worry.

I went from a 14/45 to this rear sprocket 14/48 and it gives me a lot better control in 1-3 gear with low rpms. This 48Y rear makes the jump from 1st to 2nd gear perfect on my XR650L.
