Well worth it
Two strong wooden rings and very, very long ratchet straps. That alone is worth the price of admission.

A good way to prolong the life or your floor mats and what's beneath
This is a durable metal and rubber-infused cover for the place where your heel wears through a floor mat - including an inset plastic base with screw holes. Screws are included if you want to punch through the floor mat to secure it well.
I've just used a tough double-sided tape to keep it in place. It works quite well, though the rubber might be a bit grippy depending on shoes.
In my truck, the plate is ideal right where the floor slopes up, so it's not quite in the perfect spot, but it's better than nothing!
