Great compact camera.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have the G5X so I was already very familiar with the G series cameras. While I very much like the viewfinder on the G5X, it makes the camera much more bulky to carry. The G7X MkII does not have the viewfinder making the body much more sleek and easier to carry in a pocket. It's still a fairly good chunk of a camera, but far less so than a DSLR but with close to the same image quality due to the 1 inch sensor in the G series bodies. I also like the G bodies because they have the ability to shoot in RAW mode, which gives far higher quality than the typical JPEG. The fast lens makes dim light photos much easier to take. My only very mild gripe is the design of the articulating monitor. It's made more for video blogging rather than being very helpful for photographic purposes. The design of the G5X is much better in that regard. But otherwise, I'm very pleased with the G7X MkII and would highly recommend it to someone wanting photos much better than the typical point and shoot.

Great little camera!
4 of 4 found this helpful I bought this as a "keep in the car" camera. I was not expecting much in the way of quality from the camera as it is an older model and only 2 megapixels. However, I was very surprised by it. It takes EXCELLENT photos, sometimes better than much more "high end" recent point and shoot digital cameras. True, the resolution will not allow extremely large prints, but I have printed 5 x 7 photos from it that were gorgeous. Sharpness and color rendition are just terrific. I rate it a good instead of excellent only because the user interface is a little awkward, not bad, but not up to modern standards, but that is to be expected. I love the fact that it has a real viewfinder. I will not use a camera that forces you to use the monitor to compose and take photos. The viewfinder on the S100 is large for the size of the camera, and also quite accurate. What you see is not EXACTLY what you get, but pretty close. Battery life is very good as long as you use the monitor sparingly for photo review. So overall, a great little camera, most certainly well worth the small price I paid for it. Highly recommended if you are looking for a second camera as a backup, or to keep in a car, or to simply get into digital photography on a low budget.
