Lasted one day, had to modify it
0 of 1 found this helpful I attempted to use this on a Stihl 056 magnum. I have to do ignition repairs and need to add and remove the flywheel constantly to fix the timing. On my first attempt at using this the end snapped. After that I was careful and was able to use it several more times before the other end snapped. I was able to push the broken piece out the exhaust port but on a smaller motor you would have to remove the cylinder because it is very difficult to get it back out the spark plug hole. This tool lasted less than a day. This was not a saw that had parts froze up, I just got tired of using rope so I decided to buy the "proper" tool. The amount of torque required to break it was not that high.
UPDATE: I was able to repair this tool by drilling a hole in each broken end piece and gluing + inserting trimmer string in them. This raised my review from one star to four stars. The trimmer string does not break, the piston is unlikely to break and I have now used it many times successfully. For a saw that hasn't been taken apart for years I suggest using rope to prevent breaking something. With the modification I prefer this tool over a metal piston stop.

Fit my Stihl 020 av
This was slightly larger than the original that broke but it fits and seems to be good quality.

Works as it should.
I bought these e-clips for carburetor linkage to a Stihl 056 chainsaw. I believe they are no longer available through parts stores so I was glad to find them here.
