Very Fun but not for Quality purposes
1 of 1 found this helpful The camera is a very easy and enjoyable product from Sony. It is one of the earlier Mavica models but still has the features of the newer ones. It features a 10x optical zoom that works fast and can be used slowly or quickly thanks to the dimmer style slide switch. The focus range is mind blowing with this camera, it will focus perfectly while lying face down on a surface all the way flat to the lens. Super Super Super Macro. The camera does use floppies which is one reason I enjoy the camera. Not a pro compared to modern standards but fun in my book. For it's age it really does have great battery life even compared to newer cameras. It can take pictures in a pastel, b&w, sepia, and inverse digital filter. The record time for each image is around 5-10 seconds so no burst mode there. The camera can record error if it is shook up too much while writing to the floppy. It does not take video. When highlights are blown out the camera inserts light grey lines within the overexposed areas which can be an eye sore. You can take great pictures at .3MP but since the camera writes to a floppy and need to save space, there is heavy JPEG compression and low DPI. Shutter speed cannot dip below 1/60 second or higher than 1/4000. Cannot use this camera at night unless in a well lit area. You can get about 15-25 images on the floppy before it's full. The flash blows out pictures really bad, it needs to be used like a studio camera, far away with zoom used. The flash hits in one power only and it is max. Overall it is a really fun camera to use as long as your standards are not too prestigious and it was a very functional camera for it's year.
