A Longer Take on Dunkirk
1 of 1 found this helpful Twice as long as Nolan's "Dunkirk", with a much larger cast of characters, all based on the true stories of real people. Concentration on character and a canny use of real footage more that makes up for a lower budget. John Keegan approved:
"The BBC's drama-documentary on Dunkirk, the first episode of which was shown last night, got mixed previews. Unfairly. Having watched all the episodes on video, I am struck by how fair a picture of that extraordinary episode it conveys, how accurate the history is, and how well judged is the script as drama."

It's still the old Hobbycraft kit
It's still the old Hobbycraft kit from the 90's. Any review will tell you that the rib detail on the wings is overscale and the leading edge too thick. The aft fuselage also seems about 1/8" short from top to bottom, from the cockpit on back. It can all be fixed with work, but it's too bad the updated and accurate moldings from Hobbycraft are not available.
This applies to the various Academy boxings too.
The decals are good and mostly accurate, except that the German marked one has inaccurate eagles. These were left over from its service as an RNAS plane, and wore RNAS pilot wings on the sides. The wings on the sheet look like WW2 Luftwaffe eagles.
