Visiting Simpler Times
3 of 5 found this helpful There's a lot of warnings on this set of DVDs about some of the discs not playing. I spent two and a half hours making sure all of them had access to all areas of the desk so they are fine. I suggest everyone who buys a new set to do the same thing.
With that said, I've been told him a little strange for loving the Waltons so much. I don't know what's so strange about enjoying stories of a simpler time, with people that show genuine character and compassion. Who wouldn't want to Grandpa like Grandpa? Who wouldn't want to do the right thing like John Boy?
While I enjoy some of today's TV shows, there's something to be said for classics. This is one of them shows that make you feel good after almost every episode.
The quality is not up to Modern standards, as the sound on some episodes is great, but others is muffled somewhat. The picture is not high definition, but I'm sure it matches the capabilities of TV back in the 70s. Maybe it adds to the experience...
