This is THE go to mic for a great sounding kick drum.
This is a great mic for recording kick drum. There is really no EQing necessary. The wide ranging frequency response provides just the right balance of oomph and attack. It's not boxy at all when positioned correctly. Look no further than the Audix D6 for your studio or live kick mic. This is the one.

1 of 1 found this helpful Crank it up! I love the snappy attack when I crank up the Master volume to about 4-6. Wow! It’s LOUD too! Funk guitar heaven. This amp was made for funk, soul, R&b, jazz…anything really. It also imparts more character and distinctive charm than I would have imagined from a solid state amp. Plays very nice with Pedals. Rock solid construction. No joke. What I most love is how the JC seems to emphasize the Stratiness of my Stratocaster. I’ve played many amps over the years. I’m very pleased to have finally landed on the Roland JC-40.
