Be careful! Radioactive!

I had purchased a geiger counter kit from a retail outlet. I wanted to be able to test just how well the unit was functioning. This thorium laced lantern mantle is stronger than I anticipated. Yes, it does show qualitatively how well the geiger counter is working but I'm a bit leary of handling the mantle without at least wearing rubber gloves. Be sure also to keep it away from small children.
