Yamaha WX-010 MusicCast Wireless Speaker Bluetooth WiFi AirPlay(Black)
Dec 10, 2018
Not cordless, but sounds good and MusicCast is great.
Though it is the "old model", the WX-010 is a nice little speaker that fits well into any room and supplies nice sound at low and medium levels.
Where it shines is with the Yamaha MusicCast system (a network-communication ability that let's you not only control and cast to the speaker over a local network, but also link other MusicCast devices on that network to create a distributed audio system, or even just extend the audio to other parts of a room using other Yamaha MusicCast devices like speakers, sound bars, receivers, and more.)
Note that while this is a "wireless" speaker, it requires a power cord to operate, and it's network connection works best when connected to a network wire (less latency when linked to other MusicCast devices.)
It also has minimal control on the device and really requires the MusicCast app to control it well (chosing sources, songs, linking devices, etc.)
Otherwise, I have two of these and a MusicCast receiver in my house and they work great.

Not great, Alexa works better for me
7 of 52 found this helpful The Google Home Mini may work quite well on its own, but when it comes to integrating with other products, setting up grouped actions, and even connecting to third party devices, it seriously lacks behind the Amazon Echo Dot in my uses.
There are a few features that are great though (like locating my phone, or connecting with other Google devices), but when you are in the same room with a Google Home Mini and a smartphone with Google Assistant active, both may try to answer the same request, or your phone's screen may turn on and remain on... and that gets very annoying.
If you only have the Google Home Mini, you may find it useful, especially to connect with other Google Home devices. However, Even if Alexa isn't quite as ""good" with voice recognition at times, I would still recommend an Amazon Echo if you have other third-party devices to control.

Sounds great, but best if you can get it for a bargain.
Sound quality is clear and crisp.
Larger versions have passive radiators.
It's strong with mid-range and highs. You'll want a subwoofer to fill out the low-ends (but this should be normal anyways) as it isn't ported/tuned and isn't meant for such frequency ranges.
It DOES have a pop-out IR receiver hole in it that can be used behind the cloth-screen, but your millage may vary with your IR receiver size/shape.
Wall-mount, and "feet" that attach to the bracket-mounts work well.
Unlike the later models, the cover is kept in with posts, not magnets, so be careful when removing the cover.
