Off center graphite
This has been my one and only go-to brand for decades. I'm disappointed in the fact that after having difficulty sharpening the pencils evenly I discovered after careful measurement that the graphite is off-center averaging .015 inch. Doesn't sound like much, but when sharpened on three different sharpeners they resulted in exposed graphite only on half of the perimeter leaving wood out to the point on the other half. I wish I could send a pic or two but my cell camera seems to have difficulty with such a small focal point.

Works perfectly
I installed two of these on a hope chest lid for my grand daughter. No way to slam fingers which is of course the point,
