Does the job, but with some weaknesses.
0 of 2 found this helpful The brake controller does what it is supposed to do, but it is susceptible to sudden failures. For example, if the disconnect switch on the trailer is activated while the brake controller is powered up, the brake controller will behave erratically. Although I have not opened the brake controller, it is my belief that the unit contains a microcontroller that can be adversely affected by sudden power fluctuations during operation. I have a spare unit that I carry any time I am towing...just in case.

Sized for a child and fit is poor. Good for a decor item, but is not a real tool.
It missed the mark for the following reasons.
1. It is too small to be useful by an adult; it is sized for a child's hand.
2. The square hole in the fence is too big for the beam and allows the beam to move from side to side by 1/16" or more; this makes marking inaccurate.
3. The marking pin protrudes too far through the beam.
4. The marking pin is not placed straight through the beam, but is on an angle.
5. The marking pin is dull.

Sizing is smaller than marked.
Order at least a half size larger than normal.
