We love this scanner. It is the only scanner that we have sold for over 5 years. This is so serious that we will be forced to take on another ECR
We have not been able to activate the scanner with the Bar Code set up sheets that we have been using for over 5 years, so the scanner is currently unusable. Your package contained a USB cable that connects directy to the scanner. It does not have the normal 9 pin serial cable connection that is required by the UNIWELL Electronic Cash Register. There isn't any way the USB cable is usable to replace a 9 pin serial connector. The scanner is not connected to a PC or device using a USB cable. We have been trying to get a Serial 7120 scanner since February. All of the suppliers have been out of the units that were manufactured prior to depletion of existing units manufactured last year. Something has changed on the mother board in the coding set up. We are desperate to have this scanner work with the UNIWELL ECR. Please advise us how to make this scanner work for the UNIWELL ECR. We are at the point of telling our customers that the 7120 scanner is not available and that they will have to replace their existing cash registers with newer equipment that will work with the new scanner.
Please let us know if this can be fixed or advise us that the problem cannot be solved. We REALLY want this scanner to work with the UNIWELL ECR POS system.
