Much Improved over the previous version
1 of 1 found this helpful Had the previous IS version for 15 years until the focus mechanism died and it can't be repaired - parts no longer avail. the mk II is lighter, focusses faster and seems brighter and a tad sharper. Expensive lens but it's a lens I rely on for my work every week.

NOT waterproof or dirt/dust proof!!!
These covers are NOT waterproof. Not only does water get through, but if it hasn't rained for a while a LOT of dirt/dust ends up on the car and I have to wash it. See photos. The material doesn't hold up that well either. After 1 year 4 months it is fraying where it comes into contact with the tires and the inner lining is flaking off in some parts. Might be ok if you don't take it on and off very often and it is in a carport, otherwise, don't buy this cover.
